The USDA has announced that President Joe Biden's administration will allocate $2.3 billion for food purchases to address rising food insecurity in schools and food banks as pandemic-related aid comes to an end. The funding includes nearly $1.3 billion for school meal programs and close to $1 billion for organizations such as food banks.
