South Dakota State Rep. Kadyn Wittman is working on legislation to reduce the cost of school lunches for families in the state, following the rejection of previous legislation. South Dakota has approximately $6.3 million in school meal debt, and Wittman believes offering free school lunches can create a healthier community.
