USDA: Child food insecurity rises in US

Food insecurity in US households with children rose to 17.3% in 2022, with child food insecurity specifically increasing from 6.2% in 2021 to 8.8% in 2022, according to research from the USDA. The uptick in food insecurity coincided with the scaling back of pandemic-era safety measures, like the child tax credit and universal school meals.
