Three senators are hoping to address food insecurity in children with the Healthy Meals Help Kids Learn Act, which will increase the federal reimbursements available to schools that provide breakfast and lunch. The hope is that the extra money given to schools can be used for more meals or to invest in higher-quality produce, kitchen equipment and school nutrition staffing.
