N.C. education official promotes expanding CEP

Lynn Harvey, director of school nutrition for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, addressed the State Board of Education about expanding free school meals through the federal Community Eligibility Provision as student meal debt continues to rise. Several school nutrition professionals from districts in North Carolina that participate in CEP joined Harvey in touting the health and academic benefits of the free meals.
