Ohio weighs proposal for universal school meals

Lawmakers in Ohio have introduced two education bills, one ensuring free school meals for all students while the other aims to increase the statewide base teacher salary to $50,000 per year. The universal school meal proposal also includes mandates that meals cannot be thrown away after being served to students with meal debt and that the district cannot "publicly identify or stigmatize a student" with meal debt.
