Advocates seek school meal waiver extension to 2023

Crystal FitzSimons, director of school and out-of-school time programs at the Food Research and Action Center, is among those advocating to extend federal school meal waivers through September 2023. FitzSimons says there is potential for more children to experience hunger without the waivers and this would give school nutrition programs time to overcome supply chain disruptions and staffing issues.
