Calif. District Grapples With Food Supply Chain Issues

School nutrition professionals in California's Santa Ana Unified School District say they are adjusting school menus in some cases because of supply chain challenges caused by wildfires, drought and pandemic-related issues. Josh Goddard, the district's director of nutrition services, says now is a good time to adopt sweeping changes to school meals, such as more made-from-scratch cooking, because it would allow school nutrition professionals to cook more options and give them the ability to quickly change menus.
