Murthy: Social media labeling needed to protect teens

US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy says he will advocate for warning labels on social media platforms to alert parents to their potential effects on teen mental health. Labeling would demonstrate that "social media has not been proved safe," Murthy wrote in a published essay. Such a decision would require congressional approval.
