Registered dietitians Alisa Rumsey and Jessica Cording discuss eight healthful benefits of eating cherries. Cherries provide antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds to prevent chronic disease, melatonin to support sleep, and polyphenols to support gut health. "Cherries have a lot going for them from a nutritional standpoint," Cording says. "Sure, they're tiny, but they have so much to offer."
