CDC expected to ease school quarantine guidance

New guidance from the CDC could help students stay in the classroom this year after missing an average of 15 days between September and January because of coronavirus-related quarantines. The CDC currently recommends that students not up-to-date on vaccinations stay home from school for five days after close contact with a person who tested positive, but forthcoming guidance is expected to allow unvaccinated students to attend school if they wear a mask and continue to test negative.
