5 Easy Ways To Celebrate School Lunch Hero Day

April 18, 2020

School Lunch Hero Day is Friday, May 1—just two weeks away! Every day, we see more and more inspiring and uplifting stories of how hard school nutrition professionals are working out on the front lines of this pandemic feeding America’s kids, and we are capturing as many as we can in SNA’s Facebook and Instagram stories.

We hope that you can take a moment to celebrate the heroic work you and your team are doing on May 1! Here are a few no or low-cost ways you can still celebrate, even at emergency feeding sites.

Start with downloading the official artwork to share on social media.

Give the gift of an SNA membership to a team member. Now, more than ever, an SNA membership is important to stay current, be informed, and have access to top level training.

Share this video from Jarrett J. Krosoczka, creator of the crimefighting “Lunch Lady” graphic novel series, to promote the School Nutrition Foundation GoFundMe Campaign that is raising much needed funds for school nutrition professionals nationwide during COVID-19.

Decorate with School Lunch Hero Day balloons from the SNA Emporium for a festive touch at your emergency feeding site and encourage your staff to dress up as superheroes.

You can also still order School Lunch Hero Day pencils to give out to kids and buttons for staff as well as stickers to decorate your grab and go items from the SNA Emporium, but don’t delay—quantities may be limited!

Whatever your plans for your #LunchHeroes, be sure to tag SNA on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram—we may share your content! #SchoolLunchHeroDay
