Drinking water with added lemon juice is a trendy and healthful way to stay hydrated during hot, summer days, according to registered dietitian nutritionist and spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Debbie Petitpain, who adds the convenient beverage offers vitamin C and antioxidants to help support digestion. "Some people get really fatigued from drinking plain water, some people even say it's simply physically hard to swallow plain water, and by adding a little bit of flavoring to it, like lemon, it makes it easier for them to drink," Petitpain says.
