Study: Plant-based fats tied to lower mortality risks

People who got the most dietary fat from plant sources, compared with animal sources, had a decreased risk of mortality, including from heart disease, according to a study in JAMA Internal Medicine. Researchers tracked more than 407,000 people over 24 years and found that higher levels of animal-based fats were linked to increased risks of overall and cardiovascular disease mortality.
