What the 5-20 rule means when reading nutrition labels

To take some of the guesswork out of reading nutrition labels, health experts recommend using the 5-20 rule, which means if the daily value listed for a particular nutrient on the label is 5% or less, that is considered low and 20% or more is considered high. Whether you should be getting a low or high amount of that particular nutrient depends on your individual dietary needs, experts say, adding to also read the ingredient list and if you can't pronounce an ingredient, you may not want to eat it.
