The FDA reported that remnants of the bird flu virus were found in some pasteurized milk samples, but it said the products are still safe for human consumption because pasteurization is likely to neutralize heat-sensitive viruses such as H5N1. "To date, we have seen nothing that would change our assessment that the commercial milk supply is safe," the agency said. The FDA is also evaluating any positive findings through egg inoculation tests, and results from multiple studies are expected to be released in the near future.
