Are bananas a healthful daily choice? RD weighs in

Bananas are a nutritious fruit, offering benefits such as potassium, fiber and essential vitamins, including vitamin C and vitamin B6 and electrolytes, making them a good daily dietary choice according to registered dietitian Lauren Manaker. However, they may not suit everyone, particularly those on low-potassium diets or with elevated blood sugar concerns. Manaker says that eating a banana daily is generally safe, but it's best to include a variety of fruits in one's diet to ensure balanced nutrition. "While eating a banana every day isn't bad for many people, it may be more beneficial to eat different fruits, with bananas sprinkled into the rotation," she says.
