Kindergartners at Enterprise City Schools in Alabama are learning their colors through a weeklong program that pairs fruits with each color, culminating in a "Rainbow Day" fruit tray. The initiative, supported by the USDA's Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program Grant, promotes color recognition and introduces students to healthy eating habits, according to Stephanie Dillard, the district's child nutrition director and president-elect of the School Nutrition Association.
