N.D. lawmakers consider bill to fund school lunches
Feb. 8, 2023
A bill in the North Dakota Legislature would provide $89.5 million from the state's general fund to cover school lunches for the 2023 and 2024 school years. The funding would replace a federal, COVID-19-related program that expired at the beginning of this school year. A second bill would prohibit schools from denying students a meal or serving an alternative meal based on their meal status, or to limit participation in activities due to a child's school meal balance.
