Minn. to auto-enroll 200K students for free lunch

Minnesota was approved by the USDA to automatically enroll more than 200,000 students, 90,000 of whom are not currently enrolled, who are covered by Medicaid for free school meals under a pilot program for the 2022-23 school year. Cheryl Pick, the president of the Minnesota School Nutrition Association and Foley Public Schools' child nutrition services director, called the program a "game changer" for school districts.
