Calif. Districts To Make On-site Whole Wheat Flour

California's San Miguel Joint Union School District and Shandon Joint Unified School District will use grant funding from the state's Department of Food and Agriculture to begin producing their own flour using an on-site stone mill. This farm-to-school effort is similar to programs in other states, but for at least two years, the California districts will exceed federal school nutrition standards by using 100% whole wheat.
