Legionella Poses Risk At Some Reopened Schools

Experts say students returning to school buildings that have been closed because of the coronavirus pandemic could be at risk for another respiratory illness -- Legionnaires' disease. Testing at schools in Pennsylvania and Ohio has shown traces of Legionella, the bacteria that causes Legionnaires' disease, in some buildings after water supplies have been dormant for months.
